Today was our last day here... and I must say it's rather bittersweet. I mean, the work was hard and I'm sure at least one time this week, all of us wanted to go home, but we all got through it. And I feel rather accomplished. Even though it might not look to the rest of the world like we accomplished a lot... we did. 1250 cinder blocks that were moved and moved again... I learned quite a bit, too. Long week, very tiring, very rewarding.

Work Day # 1
Today was the first day that we actually worked, even though we are still exhausted. Sadly the weather was not cooperative so we were unable to begin on Brandon's house. Instead we helped out around the community center. We carried countless cupboards down stairs and they were extremely heavy. We all had the privilege to meet Brandon and his family at a Kiwanis club meeting for lunch. I feel we are all excited to start on the house tomorrow and we hope that the weather stays nice. We have grown together a lot as a group in the past two days and have created many MANY new jokes. I cannot wait to see what the rest of this week holds. We love squatches and random people doing random things on the streets. <3

P.S. People from Tennessee say that they call themselves and are hillbillies. Also you can find pink toilets in thrift shops here.
The pictures only show the first shift of cabniets.

First Day
So, we all got up today ridiculously early today and just took a fourteen hour trip to Tennessee. It was kind of funny, the furter south we went, the more accents there were. Also, Amber had a Cowbell that was rung every time we got to a new state. The road to the community center was a bit scary, but we survived, so yay.
